[mix] nostalgia volume 1
nostalgia mix; volume one.
miss
rivlee and i were chatting yesterday about nostalgic songs from our childhood/etc and how it'd be lovely to make mixes of these, and. well, i made one, lmao. these are all songs that make me feel quite nostalgic and comforted - this is a mix of the music my mom used to play when i was about five or six years old; i'd come home from a half day of kindergarten and then she'd put on one of her cds and i'd dance in the living room for a few hours. i have a huge, huge soft spot for loreena mckennitt because of this (and because her music = beautiful. the highway man is purposely last on this mix because i adore the poem, and it's such a sad, intense song.) and, well, pretty much all of these singers. b*witched is the only group that was actually a cd i had bought/been given as a gift (well, and the lion king, which we had on tape and had been my brother's or sister's xD), rather than music of my mother's, and celine dion's my heart will go on is the only song that i've ever called in to a radio to ask if they could play it (albeit, it was radio disney and i'm not sure if i called in or made my brother, but). she also had a huge thing for riverdance and the soundtracks, but i remember these songs most clearly.
enjoy! =D (and feel free to nostalgia it up yourself!)

Lovely mix, bb! The already own all these tracks, so not d/l, but ugh, so many memories here. And apparently your mother and I listen to many of the same instrumental/world music albums.

(of course I don't. I'm just not going other things I need to be doing. Though let me tell you? Writing Haldane and Leckie together? So much fun. Who knew? I like to think that it's b/c Haldane sees right though Leckie's bullshit, but knows the guy needs some like, positive male father figure in his life.) Blame the mysterious multiple migraines

(/sobs. I'M SORRY FOR DISTRACTING YOU LMAO. and omg, i can totally see how that would be fun. oh haldane, you're pretty much awesome, in general, seriously.) /cries;; OH MAN, i mentioned this in the post below this one, but. after the multiple spider encounters yesterday? totally had one crawling on my dresser in my room at like three in the morning that night. :|| wtf is up with this.

i do consider spiders a good sign ["The spider awakens creative sensitivities. It weaves a web of intricate and subtle fabric, as if to remind us that the past always subtly influences the present and future. Often the webs will take a spiral shape, the traditional form of creativity and development. The spider inside the web reminds us that we are the center of our own world. We are the keepers and the writers of our own destiny, weaving it like a web by our thoughts, actions, and feelings.
...spider is considered the teacher of language and the magic of writing. Those who weave magci with the written word probably have a spider totem."] but i'd rather that they and i kept a respectful distance from each other lmao. like. a window. :|

AND WHAM!MAKE IT BIG OH GOD NEVERMIND IGNORE THAT ONE
no subject
LMAO DUDE I DIDN'T LISTEN TO BOWIE UNTIL I WAS MUCH OLDER, SO YES. ...i mostly listened to female artists when i was young (other than like, backstreet boys and n*sync) since my mom listened to them o: THOUGH I DO REMEMBER KNOWING THE BEACH BOYS' KOKOMO FROM A VERY YOUNG AGE xD (...it was on a trolls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_doll) video?)
IDK IF I KNOW THEM

Wham! Make it Big. Dad and I howled all the high notes in the car during father-daughter trips.

and /sobs. THAT REALLY SUCKS, I KIND OF LOVED MY TROLL DOLLS. (and my little pony dolls. seriously, i found one of the my little pony movies on youtube once and sat down and watched the whole thing in nostalgic glee.)
....
this.
[Error: unknown template video]
WATCHED THIS ALL THE TIME WHEN I WAS LIKE, THREE OR FOUR. lmfao.

I wasn't much for the Ponies (although their new series is actually amusing idek) but Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite and the Care Bear movies rocked my world. I loved Strawberry back before she started wearing pants. I wanted her cat and her tights.
...
....
brb your video killed me dead.

i really loved one of the MLP movies -- and oh man, the care bear movies! ...i really want to rewatch those, hahaha. because i only have kind of vague skewed memories about them that don't really make sense, but i know i liked them. oh man, did you have a jammie pies (http://www.dollinfo.com/images/80misc/jammieT.jpg)? my sister and i both had one, and i swear, that doll still smells like baby powder/the scent it was supposed to have after all these years.
....is it bad that now that song/video just makes me think of talbert.
no subject
No. No because it reminds me of Talbert too. He's the boy from Kokomo~
