i've been watching band of brothers the past couple of days (it's pretty much awoken's fault, she's been trying to get me to watch for ages and i've been hesistant, lmao.)
strangely, despite all of the horrifying (and real) shit that happens in this series, it wasn't until six episodes in, when doc roe is offering his chocolate to babe after his friend died, that i cried. that whole episode got me in a way the others hadn't (...even though i was like, hyperventilating at the start of the second ep. like, how in the world would you prepare yourself for the fact that you're about to jump out of a freaking plane into a battlefield - when some of you have no real experience in actual warfare - and just. ugh. war is horrible;; ), because i think i relate a bit better to the viewpoint of a medic than i do to the viewpoint of a soldier, and everything had finally started sinking in.

SO YES. SERIES IS GOOD, I'M NOT DONE YET, BUT. hng;; and the cinematography! gorgeous. i want to icon it all so bad.

and everyone is so damn shippy. (them too.)

basically when i'm finished and not in the midst of migraine!haze!of!doom (thus the sketch, drawing always distracts me from health issues. still waiting on a email back from doc regarding POTS. nervous to increase my salt intake too much without talking to a doc first!;; ) i'll make a longer post about this show (+fandom, perhaps).

it will be a good discussion! lmao. ahh, i adore M*A*S*H, both the writing and the characters are done wonderfully (good acting makes my day! ...their cameo characters aren't always awesome, but all of the main actors are great.) it's about an american field hospital during the korean war (or 'conflict', depending on who you ask) ..and a few of the main characters were drafted, so it's an interesting take on the war. it's one of those that blends comedy and serious aspects really well?


I WOULD ADORE A MIX, GO GO AT IT. =D i've been already contemplating songs for mixes of my own (:

seriously that chocolate scene made me burst into tears ;___; IDKY. WHY THAT SCENE OUT OF THE ALL THE HORRIBLE SHIT THAT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR SO MANY EPISODES. maybe it's because it's by this episode that they all seem to really start to break down? and that's so painful to see.

a lot changes with the boys after Bastogne :( i think you're picking up on that. it's a horrific battle, almost overwhelming in how things just keep coming. but quiet moments like the chocolate scene kind of bring it all home with the stark contrast? imo, anyway. when Doc was wrapping his fingers in the string and praying, it made me sob.

HE REALLY IS. hm i would watch the hell outta that movie, bb ;; (but only if joe can be in it too /hopeless stan)

I have a friend who is obsessed with that show. I visited her once and we traded off BoB and FMA episodes when we weren't running around the city. I didn't get hooked, but I have a lot of respect for BoB, from everything I saw and have heard about it! I keep meaning to watch more sometime.
