Sonoma County, CA, has separated an elderly gay couple after one of the partners fell down the stairs and required medical attention. To add insult to injury, county authorities placed the other partner in a separate nursing home, denied him access to his SO and auctioned off their home and possessions.

i read about (and saw) this yesterday here. it just, sickens me. and scares me a lot that it happened in such a 'gay friendly' area. please spread the word, you guys. it's only one incident of many, but that makes it all the more important that it's brought to everyone's attention.

when i explained what had happened out loud to my family, i cried a bit. it's so, just, awful. on so many levels - gay rights, elderly rights, human rights. ugh;; thank you for spreading it around ♥
