the pacific is killing me right now;; I THINK I STILL HAVE A PERSONAL PREFERENCE FOR BAND OF BROTHERS, but damn, the last few episodes of the pacific really hit you right in the heart, and mazello's acting is spot on, and malek plays crazy-eyed perfectly (the scene is a bit random so it shouldn't be spoiler-y) (also
awoken's fault i now think of him as a speirs/roe lovechild.) i didn't connect with the large amount of characters that wormed their way into my heart in BoB -- but i figure, despite being the same war, they're very different shows, with very different warfare and very different settings, so. they touch on you in different ways.
i'll say a bit more when my brain isn't still in the thick of trying to process the horrible thing that is war. and how you could ever gather up the remains of yourself after the things that they went through, the things they did and saw, and manage to cobble together a functional life. it makes me feel so much respect and pain.
