is this the end or just the start of something really beautiful disguised as something really ugly?

HI, I WANT TO TALK ABOUT PERSONALITY TYPES.

I was reading about PTSD today, after watching M*A*S*H/googling around the internet and ending up at interesting blogs, but I was actually trying to find if anyone had mentioned what they thought Hawkeye's Myers-Briggs type was-- any ideas? o: I was thinking perhaps an ENTP, while his nature sometimes makes him seem like a feeler, the banter and cleverness of an ENTP fits well. and, well: No games – they’ll win. No "pulling rank" – they’ll just want to put you in your place. lmao ....though, though, now I'm looking at ESTP too, and I'm a bit torn. I'll have to research more o: ...i'm leaning toward ESTP now, though. ...yeah, reading more, ESTP could totally make sense. yeah, no, changing my mind! ESTP for hawkeye (: [/making a giant list of show character's personality types for help in writing.

...actually tentative opinions real quick:

-> But before I begin, personally, I like this site and it's full descriptions a lot better than the ones I'm linking here, but the ones I'm linking here are shorter and thus I figured you guys are more likely to read them. If you're really interested in the types though, I suggest the personalitypage.com site o: <-

Star Trek:
Spock, ISTJ ('responsible, literal, precise and non-nonsense, they say what they mean and mean what they say. careful and accurate about facts, and plan and go about their work in a thoughtful, meticulous fashion. excellent memory for details and can recall events with impressive clarity.')
McCoy, ESFJ [HE IS TOTALLY MENTIONED ON THE LIST! =D]('realistic, practical, and believe responsibilities and obligations come before fun, do not consider objectivity a particularly admirable quality, give freely of themselves and have strong need to please & be appreciated by others')
Kirk, ENFP ('they are compelled to see beyond the obvious and to understand things, especially people. find creative ways to bend the rules they consider unneccessary and are talented at overcoming obstacles. well-connected people who are usually good talkers. usually cheerful but become withdrawn and moody when frightened or overwhelmed.')

..which actually does prove kirk & spock being created to be two parts of a whole & complete eachother -- and McCoy being a perfect go-between o: (two traits in common with each)

FMA:
Edward, INTJ (OR P? I CAN'T DECIDE.) 'global thinkers with original minds, on a constant quest to increase their knowledge and their overall competence. prefer to work alone or with a small group of equally competent colleagues, sometimes unaware of emotional recations or states of others. single-mindedness may result in their being stubborn and inflexible.')
Alphonse, INFP ('on a lifelong quest for meaning and harmony, driven by deeply felt personal values. sensitive and caring, with a great empathy for people - and simply can't do something they don't believe in their heart is right.')

considering riza as an ISTJ like spock, and hughes as an ENFP like kirk (and me!). mustang is probably either an ENTP or ENTJ -- he's much too future-oriented to be a sensor, and i can't decide if his disregard for rules (...and paperwork) makes him more likely to be a perciever or if his unyielding goal of being fuhrer and leader nature makes him more likely to be an ENTJ. ...iddk.

Greg House, INTP ('independent, skeptical, and often brillaint, they possess an inner confidence that they can tackle any problem by logically working their way through it. easily bored by simple issues and pay little attention to mundance facts or details, may be condescending to those who need hand-holding.)
Allison Cameron, ENFJ ('productive and organized people who run on high energy. often suffer a lack of objectivity and have difficulty making decisions that are logical, tend to idealize relationships, have strong value-based opinions that they generally feel free to share.)

Wilson is perhaps an ESFJ like McCoy, and I think Foreman is an INTJ like Edward. Chase could likely be an ENTP, he has the ambition and charisma, and I actually have no idea whether Cuddy would be a thinker or feeler.

& I did these myself & then googled them and found the same personality types ...so I totally agree with what people think for Friends:
Rachel & Joey, ESFP (warm, outgoing, friendly, usually vivacious and talkative. they know a lot of people and, as long as the people are nice, they seem to like everybody equally well. don't naturally anticipate future events or consider the effects their current choices may have on the future.)
Ross, ISTJ
Monica, ESTJ (the consummate project managers, talented at realistically sizing up a situation, setting goals, determining availabe resources, and organizing and supervising the personnel to make sure the job gets done correctly and efficiently. highly competitive, have a strong need to be in control, and are strong-willed and verbal.)
Chandler, ENTP (like to please people and have a strong need to be liked, comfortable occupying center stage and enjoy demonstrating their cleverness and sophisticated language skill -- which usually include an impressive vocabulary and penchant for puns. eager to entertain their many friends and acquaintances, they are often funny, witty, and engaging storytellers.)
Phoebe, ENFP ...though she could be an INFP, she always strikes me as having a personality like that ...but she's a bit of a people person, so I'm torn.

And Tohru from Furuba is totally an ISFJ ('quiet and reserved, loyal and devoted family members and friends who take their responsibilities toward others very seriously. sensitive and sympathetic, good listeners who are eager to help people in real and practical ways, run risk of being taken advantage of.') and Kyo is totally an ISTP ('independent, self-contained, and often aloof. realistic and extremely pratical, people of action and self-direction who are generally less skilled in dealing with interpersonal conflicts - the inherent inconsistency and irrationality of humans is both confusing and frustrating to ISTPs. tend to be literal and find pretentious people or people with hidden agendas annoying.)

(also, fun fact! in my family, my mom is an ENTJ, my dad is an ENTP, my sister is an INTP, my brother is an ISTJ, and i'm an ENFP. (...link to longer explanation because i am vain. ):' ) ...i'm quite a strong feeler too, so fortunately I have my aunt - an INFP - to balance things out a little. xD)

personality types are interesting? =D
